Nottinghamshire Deaf Society Information, Communication Technology (ICT) Project.

Please note that there is no more computer training until possibly September, but Drop in is still available on a Wednesday afternoon from 2pm till 4pm until the end of july when a decision will be made.

The ICT Project was set up in 2001 to provide Computer training for Deaf people in Nottinghamshire and the surrounding areas.

Our ICT Resource Centre is furnished with:

  • 10 state of art computers
  • 6 laptops
  • Flatbed Scanner
  • 2 Digital Still Cameras
  • Digital Video Camera
  • Interactive Smart Board

  • Provide accessible ICT Training
  • Enable Deaf people to improve their career prospects in ICT
  • Enable Deaf people to improve their life skills through gaining confidence in using ICT.

Our training continues to grow and has become a benchmark for other organisations teaching Deaf people to follow.

What we offer:

  • Computer Training in British Sign Language
  • Qualified Deaf ICT Tutor
  • Ability to learn ICT in a direct way
  • No need for a BSL Interpreter
  • More user friendly as students are able to take in full information

* These courses are created by UK Online and run to meet their curicculum.

  • We also offer Drop in on Wednesday afternoons from 2pm till 4pm, for one to one tuition and to enable students to catch up if needed.
